We need to win by 2 goals in order to get to the final after the 1-0 loss at Old Trafford, which could have been much worse if not for some great saves by Almunia. Hopefully we win today and Barca wins tomorrow so we can get revenge for 2006.

U.S. Soccer has announced the official fan membership program of the U.S. national teams – the U.S. Soccer Supporters Club.

U.S. Soccer SC members will receive numerous benefits, highlighted by priority status to secure tickets to the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Germany. U.S. Soccer will distribute its ticket allotment from FIFA to those dedicated members of USSSC before holding a general lottery, providing members the best chance to see the U.S. play in biggest sporting event in the world.

The US Men’s National Team climbed two more spots in the FIFA World Rankings and is now back into the top 15 after their recent 2-2 draw against El Salvador and 3-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago. This is the highest the USMNT has been ranked since July 2007.

Scores from all the 2010 World Cup Qualifying games yesterday. The US remained in first by beating Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 thanks to a Jozy Altidore hat trick. Poland beat San Marino 10-0 and Bolivia beat Argentina 6-1 in what must have been an April Fool’s joke.

The Augsburg College men’s soccer program has released its 2009 fall schedule. The Auggies are coming off their first ever NCAA tournament appearance in 2008 — a season that saw the team record a 12-4-7 overall mark and a No. 17 NSCAA national ranking

The Major League Soccer season kicks off with a historic matchup between the expansion Seattle Sounders FC and the MLS Cup finalists New York Red Bulls at Qwest Field on March 19, one of 27 regular season games to be broadcast in high definition on ESPN2, highlighting the 2009 schedule released on Wednesday.

Each of the 15 MLS teams will play 30 regular season games for a total of 225 games. Each team will meet twice for a base of 28 games and the two remaining games will be against conference opponents, with a priority on rivalries.
